Why do Ethiopian professionals leave the country? Well, let see...haha, lack of good governance, political oppression, economic stagnation??? The question and answer is the same from Ethiopia to Mexico to china. What is the solution: Good governance.

Samuel, you are on the right track my man. People may mistrust your intentions, but big ideas are always missunderstood. I would like to help you in your organization. I have left a message on your website. Good luck.

Dear Samuel,

Your idea is not bad as it can be a potential to save so many lives in Ethiopia. However, you’ve mentioned that a lot of professionals particularly Physicians, Medical Doctors, Nurses, and other health practitioners have left Ethiopia while foreign Doctors like Dr. Hamlin stays more than 50 years in helping Ethiopians. But you have never stated any reasons why the Ethiopian professionals leave their country?

What do you think the major reason for Ethiopian professionals to leave the country? What do you think the current government has done to reduce the number of professionals from being forced to leave their country? What do you think in general is the main problem of poverty?

Thanks,

Rosa

I see ambition, dedication and passion to name a few in Sam's work. We can all learn from this and help improve the life of many communities especially Ethiopians that are desperately needing the help of next generation. All the best!!!

Keep it up, Samuel! You are on the right path to fulfilling your dreams and goals.

In addition to what some readers have said above, just make sure that you don't get distracted by extremists who think nothing but negative. Surround yourself with positive thinkers like you who walk the talk and have bright vision, mission and goal for themselves and for others. Remain humble about what you do and let others lead the organization, too; don't stay as the chairperson for far too long, it's a young organization and you are young, now is the time for you to embrace and practice the culture of organizational leadership change; I believe that way you can secure the continuity of the organization and the realization of your dreams.

Good luck, brother!

I am a huge fan of Samuel! He is young, gifted, ambitious and has huge plans for Ethiopia and Ethiopians everywhere. He respects everyone and still manages to have solid relationship with those who also want to do BIG things for Ethiopia. (I hope he gives himself some time to enjoy the process / journey). I value his friendship and I wish him the very best, even more so, since he has just announced his candidacy for an executive position for his student Union.

This is a noble ambition to have Samuel. But know that you may face obstacles, but whatever your goal, make sure you build an organization that will outlast you. Only then, would you have established an institution worthy of your dreams. Make sure you get your Ph.D. along the way. It will help!!
