"She was widely seen as the party’s most charismatic figure and a prime minister hopeful, with potential for wide support among members of Ethiopia’s two largest ethnic groups, Oromos and Amharas."

"The leader of Ethiopia’s Unity for Democracy and Justice Party"

"A party popular among Tigrayans" to be replaced by "a party popular among Oromos and Amharas." What is going to change? Pretty much nothing. Recycling chauvinism after chauvinism in the name of "ethiopia."

It is amazing... it looks like power wins again.. throughout history Ethiopians fought for power and i thought this being the 21st century things would change but i guess this proves it wrong. The Ethiopian government especially prime minister Meles Zenawi would do anything to stay in power. And it is amazing that the only person who is willing to stand up for freedom is Birtukan. She is like a modern time Ghandi, resolving issues with peace.

Birtukan's #1 fan!
