Bilen is a self-taught designer residing in Washington D.C. area. She has been sewing and designing clothes since her early childhood. Bilen was born and raised in Ethiopia and draws her inspiration from the diverse cultural heritage found in her homeland.

As an Ethiopian-American she is also inspired by urban American styles. Her design is not only limited to clothing and fabrics; she enjoys creating accessories, upholstery, furniture, and the many needs of home life. She calls her work B'Ware: Style and Accent for Urban Dwellers. While she is working towards launching her own clothing business, she currently does design work mainly for close friends and special clients.

Her apparels featured in this issue of Tadias magazine are designed to be worn at social events such as weddings or a night out on the town.
