New Hip-Hop Album Featuring Ethiopian-American Chanteuse

When Lazie Bone of the Grammy award winning hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony heard Conrtist work on their debut album he wanted to take them to another level and make them widely recognizable. Conrtist consists of three individuals ‚ T-Why, June Bug, and Comillion who met at Track Records, a Los Angeles recording studio. Comillion began her singing, dancing, and acting career at age five and comes from a musically inclined family. Her mother is the legendary reggae musician Chachi Tadesse. June Bug and T-Why have written, composed, and produced music for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Together they formed the group Conrtist and recently released their first hip hop/R&B album entitled 'Entrapment Book 1' available in Best Buy stores nationwide. Other artists on the album include Mo Thugs, Lil Wun, Science, Scelestine, and Layzie Bone. Their second album Conrtist Family will also be coming out soon.

"Working professionally in the music industry is the best thing in the world to us. Thatís all we live for. We eat, drink, and breathe music. There is nothing better than doing what you truly love" they tell Tadias. Of course, recording is hard work and Conrtist takes each moment seriously. "Weíre not just artists but also business people," they note. "We want to be able to leave a mark on the music industry by bringing a new vibe. We want to create an everlasting legacy in the hip hop music arena." Conrtist write their own lyrics with T-Why and June Bug producing the album and Comillion co-producing. They arranged, mixed, and mastered the entire album. They own and operate their own record label and production company called Sound Lab Records and look forward to seeing SLR become one of the major, powerful independent record labels in the industry, paving the way for other young artists to follow.

"What drives us is the knowledge that there are those who are less fortunate than us. We want to be in a position where we can help those who are in need of our help, whether itís kids who want to fulfill their dreams and donít know where to start, or those who need to do something productive to keep them off the streets," they declare. Currently Conrtist is completing a test market tour of the Midwest and their nationwide tour begins this fall. "We understand that we are here to make a difference in this world," they state, "and we want to be able to do so through our music."
